Definition of Dating: Dating is a form of human courtship consisting of social activities done by two persons with the aim of each assessing the other has possibly being suitable as a partner in an intimate relationship or as a possible spouse.

Hanging out has been "glamorize" by the media and by many sitcoms that many of us watch on a regular bases, I'm not saying that you should stop watching those sitcoms all together. That's your decision. However sitcoms like "Friends" that glamorize hanging out and not taking a girl on an actual date is where we gain our judgment as to what we should be doing in our lives... if everyone else is doing it, then why can't we???

Many people in today's society tend to put off dating until a later time in their lives, because getting married isn't a priority in relation to how it was even 10 years ago. Today we are living in a world that is diminishing the commitment to family. HOW are we doing this? By promoting couples to live together and taking away the responsibilities of the paternal roles of parents and pasting those roles onto others the take care of. This is the essential reason why dating needs to be one of the highest priorities, because we are getting to know people.

Here at the college I attend, girls have a problem with saying yes on a date because they feel like if they do indeed say "yes" on a date, that eventually the date would lead to spending eternity with the same guy you went on a date with... for Pete's sake, going on one or two dates with a guy isn't going to kill you!!! I mean heck, you might even have a bit of fun while doing it. What's the harm in having a bit of fun?

During dates we are only creating a model for how we will live if we are married, we are essentially establishing a pattern, that pattern makes it easier to find someone that pairs with you correctly. It also takes the pressure of living with someone and then realizing further down the road that living with this person ending up affecting your life for the worse.

I hope this post will help you in your dating decisions, please feel free to leave comments at your own leisure!
